Working with kids is a lot like a cattle drive. Each person has an important task and must stay focused to keep the event moving in the right direction. As teachers of kids, we want to have an effective event (but without the rope).
However unlike herding cattle, the purpose of teaching is not just to complete the event but to make sure that the kids are engaged and understanding the concepts that are being taught.
This workshop will give children workers various principles to guide them while on the "drive" and many tools to use for their time of service.
This workshop can qualify for a Minute Fisherman - Drover Certificate.
A drover is someone who drives cattle on a cattle drive (like a cowboy). Working with kids can sometimes be like herding cattle during a stampede! They go every which way. But someone that has taken this training will learn skills to corral and direct children to have an organized class time. They will learn practical skill, not to entertain kids, but to share the Gospel with them and teach them God's Word - following God's command to be a "fisher of men" - at a minute's notice.
In order to earn the certificate you must attend the training workshop and then present the skills learned for evaluation.
