In this activity, children will look up Bible verses on love to help them answer TRUE or FALSE statements. Students can then take the verse and do an art project to take home.
Supplies
Verse Search Template --> Verse Search Answer Key if needed --> Scissors Bibles Pencils Pipe cleaners or paper Decorating supplies (markers, crayons, stickers, etc.) Glue/Tape Completed Verse Template if needed -->
1. Download and print the Verse Search template above.
2. Cut each strip and hide them around the room.
3. Let the children look for the strips. Children can work in pairs if they would like.
4. Once all of the strips have been found (10 strips), instruct the children to look up the Bible verse(s) and then circle the correct TRUE or FALSE answer on their slip of paper.
5. After the children are done, go around and have the children read their slips, corresponding Bible verse(s), and correct answer aloud. Discuss answers as a group if needed.
6. Pass out pipe cleaners (chenille stems) and show the children how to bend it into a heart (see picture below). Or you could teach the children how to cut a heart out of red paper or pass out red paper for the kids to draw a heart. 7. Have the children write the Bible verse from the activity on a strip of paper and tape/glue it to their heart or write the verse directly on the heart paper. Or print, cut, and distribute the Complete Verse Template (near the top of this page) so that the children can decorate their slips of paper and tape/glue it to their heart pipe cleaner or on their paper (see picture below).
