Summer Passages

If you have been having issues accessing the Family Dashboard in order to access the Summer Scripture Memory Passage Cards, you can click the files below to download them. REMIDNER, these cards are the official Bible Bee study material in the case of any discrepancies so memorizing from these cards is recommended versus memorizing from the Bible. Suggestions: Print them on cardstock, cut them out, punch a hole in the corner, and put on a ring. Or print them out and put them in a folder or binder. Could put them in a sheet protector in order to mark and erase mistakes and improvements.

Oral Recitation Guidelines
​CLICK HERE to see the Oral Recitation Scoring Guidelines from the NBB for Proclaim Day for Scripture Memory Passages. Each participant will be asked 1 Navigate passage (chosen by the host) and 1 Explore passage (chosen by the participant). It is suggested that children decide which Explore passage they want to recite as soon as possible so they can practice saying it and be very familiar with it. Passages will be said individually to two evaluators; parents are welcome to listen and cheer while their child(ren) recites their passages on Proclaim Day!
Memory Verse Study Resources
VerseLocker App - Scripture Memory Fellowship has partnered with the Bible Bee again this year to make the BB memory verses available in their free VerseLocker app. Use this app to play games and learn your Scripture Memory passages. Can be used online in a web browser or through the APP. (Be sure to click on the ones from 2023, not 2022).

BibleMemory.com App - The National Bible Bee welcomes you to the Official National Bible Bee group on BibleMemory.com. The purpose for this group is to provide participants with Bible verses for the 2023 Summer Study and the 2023 National Bible Bee Competition.

Scripture Memory Cards for Beginners - The BB does not provide card templates for the Beginners but a BB family has created some for students to print and use.

Discovery Journal Resources


​Quizlet - Online flashcard system + online activities for studying. There are sets on there created by other BB contestants from which you can study. Search NATIONAL BIBLE BEE 2023 or BIBLE BEE 2023. You can also create your own.
Cross Reference List
(Students wanting to qualify for Nationals should use the Cross Reference List below, provided by the NBB, to study the context of these cross references, as there will be cross reference questions on the test. Some context is provided within the Discovery Journal, but doing your own study is also recommended. Recommended areas of study include historical, geographical, and cultural information, etc. You do not have to memorize these passages but you should be familiar with the address, content, and context of the passages.

Important Dates

Optional Weekly Connect Times for June and July - Alternating Mondays from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM and Tuesdays from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM - Red Bridge Baptist Church (4901 E. Red Bridge Road, Kansas City, MO 64137)

Purpose: Fellowship, opportunities to share what your family has been learning through the Discovery Journal, practice for reciting verses, and help for preparing for the local and national competition. To see our meeting schedule CLICK HERE.

Proclaim Day - Saturday, Aug 5 - 9:30am* - Red Bridge Baptist Church (4901 E. Red Bridge Road, Kansas City, MO 64137).
*NOTE: Time change from earlier announcements.

What is Proclaim Day? Proclaim Day is an opportunity for participants to showcase what they have learned and memorized over the course of the Summer Study.

What happens at Proclaim Day? The Proclaim Day competition consists of two parts: an eight question multiple-choice quiz and memory verse recitation of 2 summer passages. (This is the first step to qualify for the national competition if participants desire to go on); all families are invited to participate in this celebration day and make God known, regardless of whether or not your child has been coming to the weekly events.

If your child is wanting to qualify for nationals but you are unable to come to Proclaim Day, you can facilitate the tests at home. Contact me for further instructions if you need to do this option.

This will be a fun event for families regardless of how much of the Discovery Journal or Memory Passages your family has done. Each child will be recognized for their participation and there will be individual recognition for different accomplishments. We will end with an optional picnic lunch at the church pavilion and activity area for families to have time to fellowship. It will be a celebration and a time of making God known!

NBBC Qualifying Test - Aug. 11-14
Following Proclaim Day, participants ages 7–18 (Primary, Junior, and Senior divisions) may take the National Bible Bee Competition Qualifying Test at home. The highest-scoring participants will be invited to compete in the National Bible Bee Competition.

National Bible Bee Competition - November 12-16 - Ridgecrest Conference Center, Black Mountain, NC
​"The top 120 participants in each age division will be invited to compete for over $100,000 in prize money in a heart-grabbing competition. Contestants will compete in Scripture knowledge and memorization as they 'know God’s word and make Him known'".
Ellia was from the KC area and has been a national winner multiples times.
